My Journey into Robotics: Building the Future, One Project at a Time
Hi there! I’m Paty Hamilton, and my passion lies at the intersection of mechanics, electronics, and computer science – the wonderful world of mechatronics engineering.
My journey began at Western Sydney University, where I delved deep into the fascinating world of mechatronics. It was during my final year thesis that I had the privilege of working under the guidance of the esteemed Dr. Gu Fang. Together, we explored the potential of electric skateboards, specifically focusing on a braking system that adjusts based on the weight distribution, similar to a Segway. This project ignited a spark within me – a desire to push the boundaries of electric vehicle technology, particularly with the development of an anti-braking system for electric cars.
Fueled by this ambition, I graduated with honours and embarked on my professional journey at Scott Automation and Robotics. Here, I had the incredible opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, further honing my skills in integrating PLC ladder logic with primarily ABB robots. The intricate dance between programming and robotic movement captivated me, solidifying my desire to delve deeper into this field.
However, as I progressed in my career, I realized a growing need – a need for a platform dedicated to practical robotics education. Here’s where my next chapter begins.
This website, (insert website name here), is my endeavour to create a space for learning and sharing practical robotics knowledge. It’s a platform where I can regain the excitement of discovery, delve deeper into this captivating field, and most importantly, share my knowledge with you, the next generation of robotics enthusiasts.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned robotics hobbyist, I believe hands-on experience is paramount. Here, we’ll explore the fascinating world of robots, not just through theory, but by building, tinkering, and yes, even breaking things – all in the spirit of learning and progress.
So, join me on this exciting journey! We’ll explore robot design, programming, control systems, and the endless possibilities that robotics holds.
Together, let’s build the future, one project and one line of code at a time!
